📜 The Prophetic Timeline of God’s Plan: From Creation to the New Heaven and Earth
Purpose
This reference is written to give a clear, chronological overview of God’s redemptive plan — showing how the story that began in Genesis flows into the prophecies of Daniel, continues through Jesus’ life and our present age, and culminates in Revelation’s promise of a new creation.
Its purpose is to help believers see how every major event in the Bible fits together — and where we stand now in God’s unfolding timeline — so we can live with understanding, peace, and purpose while waiting for Christ’s return.
1. Genesis — Creation and the Beginning of God’s Story
God created the heavens and the earth, placing Adam and Eve in perfect fellowship with Him.
“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.’” — Genesis 1:26
But through temptation, Adam and Eve sinned and were separated from God (Genesis 3).
Yet immediately, God promised redemption — the “seed of the woman” who would crush the serpent’s head (Genesis 3:15).
That single promise becomes the golden thread that runs through all of Scripture.
2. The Flood — Judgment and Renewal
As humanity grew more corrupt, God judged the world through the Flood, saving only Noah and his family.
“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” — Genesis 6:8
Afterward, God made a covenant never again to destroy the world by water (Genesis 9:11), showing that even in judgment, His plan was mercy and preservation.
3. Abraham — The Chosen Covenant
God called Abram (later Abraham) to leave his homeland and go to a land He would show him — the Promised Land.
“I will make you into a great nation… and through you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” — Genesis 12:2–3
From Abraham came Isaac, Jacob (Israel), and the twelve tribes — the beginning of God’s covenant people through whom the promised Redeemer would come.
4. Moses — Deliverance from Egypt
After centuries of slavery in Egypt, God raised up Moses to deliver His people through mighty signs and wonders.
“Let My people go, that they may serve Me.” — Exodus 9:1
God brought Israel through the Red Sea, gave them the Law at Sinai, and led them toward the Promised Land.
This exodus from bondage became the great picture of spiritual salvation — freedom from sin through God’s power and grace.
5. The Promised Land — Israel’s Rise and Fall
Under Joshua, Israel entered Canaan, conquering and settling the land God had promised.
But throughout the time of the Judges and the Kings, Israel’s story became a cycle of faithfulness and rebellion, blessing and discipline.
Eventually, after King David and his son Solomon, the nation divided into two kingdoms:
Israel (north) — fell to Assyria in 722 B.C.
Judah (south) — fell to Babylon in 586 B.C.
This exile fulfilled the warnings of prophets like Jeremiah, who said they would be removed from the land for disobedience (Jeremiah 25:11).
6. Exile in Babylon — Daniel’s Setting
Daniel was one of the young men taken captive to Babylon. Even in exile, he remained faithful, praying toward Jerusalem and seeking understanding of God’s plan.
During this time, God gave Daniel visions that revealed the future of the world’s kingdoms and Israel’s destiny.
These visions — especially in Daniel 2, 7, 9, and 12 — become the prophetic foundation for all future revelation, even the Book of Revelation itself.
7. Daniel 2 — The Kingdoms Brought Low & God’s Eternal Kingdom
In Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, Daniel interprets the statue made of gold, silver, bronze, and iron — representing Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.
“In the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed.” — Daniel 2:44
This reveals God’s control over history and the coming of His unshakable kingdom — established through the Messiah.
8. Daniel 9 — The 69 Weeks and the Pause Before the Final Week
Daniel is told of seventy “weeks” (sevens) determined for Israel.
7 weeks (49 years) → rebuilding of Jerusalem
62 weeks (434 years) → leading to the coming of the Messiah
Total: 69 weeks fulfilled by Jesus’ first coming
Then Scripture says:
“After the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself.” — Daniel 9:26
That “cutting off” is the crucifixion of Christ — which happened after the 69th week, before the final 70th week.
This is where the prophetic clock pauses — the Church Age begins.
9. Isaiah 53 — The Messiah’s Suffering and Purpose
“He was despised and rejected by men… He was pierced for our transgressions… and by His wounds we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:3–5
Here the “cutting off” of the Messiah is explained: Jesus bore our sins so we could be reconciled to God.
The cross fulfilled Daniel’s prophecy of atonement (Daniel 9:24 — “to make an end of sin”).
10. Matthew 24:14 / Romans 11:25 — Our Mission During the Pause
“This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.” — Matthew 24:14
“A partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.” — Romans 11:25
The purpose of the pause is for the gospel to reach all nations — every tribe, language, and people — giving everyone the opportunity to hear about Jesus.
This is our current era: the Church’s mission period before the prophetic clock resumes.
11. Philippians 1:21–23 / 2 Thessalonians 2:6–8 — The Believer’s Role and Heart
We live in a time of both urgency and hope:
“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21
“The mystery of lawlessness is already at work… but he who now restrains it will do so until he is taken out of the way.” — 2 Thessalonians 2:7
We share the gospel faithfully, knowing the “restrainer” (the Holy Spirit’s influence through the Church) still holds back the full rise of evil.
When this restraint lifts and the gospel has reached all peoples, the Antichrist will rise — beginning the final seven years (the 70th week).
12. Daniel 9:27 / Matthew 24:15–21 — The Final Week
“He will make a firm covenant with many for one week… but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering.” — Daniel 9:27
This “one week” (7 years) begins with a global covenant led by the Antichrist.
Halfway through, he breaks it, committing the “abomination of desolation” — triggering the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:15–21).
13. Daniel 12 / Revelation 19 — The End-Time and Christ’s Return
“At that time… there shall be a time of distress such as never was… but everyone whose name is found written in the book will be delivered.” — Daniel 12:1
“I saw heaven opened… and behold, a white horse! He who sat on it is called Faithful and True.” — Revelation 19:11
At the end of the seven years, Christ returns as the conquering King.
He defeats the Antichrist, judges the nations, and resurrects those who belong to Him.
The kingdoms of this world become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ.
14. Revelation 21 — The New Heaven and New Earth
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth… and I heard a loud voice saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.’” — Revelation 21:1–3
The story comes full circle:
In Genesis, God walked with man in the Garden; in Revelation, God walks with man again — forever.
Sin, death, and pain are gone. The eternal relationship between God and His people is restored.

💭 Closing Reflection
From the Garden of Eden to the New Jerusalem, God’s plan has always been about restoration — bringing His creation back into full fellowship with Him.
We live right now in the “pause” of prophecy — the time of grace and global witness.
Our mission is simple but eternal: share who Jesus is, live in holiness, and look forward with joy.
Because when the gospel has reached every heart that will hear,
the Bridegroom will come,
and we will finally walk and talk with God again — forever.
“The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come.’” — Revelation 22:17
